Libraries for Fun and Knowledge

My Library ♥

We are fortunate to have libraries for so many purposes. We can research any subject, use computers, check out books, video’s, CD’s or just sit in a comfortable chair and read to our heart’s content. It’s a wonderful advantage for all the family and it’s free.

The library is a valuable source of information on practically everything you can imagine. It’s the place to find information and entertainment for the whole family. If it’s been awhile since you visited the library, be prepared for a big surprise. It’s not just a place for kids to do research for school projects anymore. Many libraries have club meetings, art exhibits, lectures, poetry and book readings, and computers, besides all the kid activities.

The library provides a great way to get involved in your community. Clubs and community groups meet at the library, so make inquires about them or ask about starting a group of your own. If your library doesn’t already have it, you might want to start a poetry reading group, a writing group, or a recipe trading group. There are any number of hobbies or study groups others will be interested in.

One of the best things you can do for your child is to introduce them to the library. Take your child in and present them to the librarian. He or she will explain the rules of conduct and services offered. In most libraries, besides books to check out and read, there are games, puzzles, story telling, puppet shows, and workshops the kids can sign up for. The library can open up a whole new world of experiences for your child.

For the older members of the family, you will find information on every subject under the sun. You can study any subject that interests you in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, or start that new novel you wanted to read. You can check out books, videos and Cd’s to enjoy at home, all for free. Also, while the kids are busy you could do the research, and get on a computer to write your article for Triond. If you are lucky and the kids are especially good, you might have time to answer all those comments your friends made on your latest article.

In any case, you and the family will enjoy your visit to the library. It doesn’t cost you a penny, It won’t lighten your pocket book and will provide the family with knowledge and entertainment now and for a lifetime. It’s one of my favorite places.
